About me

Starting a positive relationship with your therapist is an important first step in counselling, to help initiate this process I am pleased to offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation I am confident that this will help identify your concerns, answer any questions you may have and of course to see if you feel comfortable working with me.
Often the simple act of talking through your thoughts on the telephone is enough to lift a significant weight from your shoulders, book your 15 minutes today by ringing 07599 386481

Our work together would normally be based around a sense that everyone experiences difficult periods at one time or another and you may not be surprised to hear that a significant amount of people consider talking therapy help at some point in their lives.

Your difficulties may have been triggered by a specific event such as a trauma or some kind of loss, or a series of events. Or there may be no apparent problem and yet suddenly you feel stuck.

During our time together you will find me to be friendly, empathic and non-judgmental to your needs.

Together we will work in a way that will best help you find and use your own inner strengths. In so doing, you may then be more able to make the choices and changes necessary to live and create a more satisfying life to include meaningful and fulfilling relationships with others.

If it is helpful we will look at a series of systems and strategies for you to work with outside of our time together, with the aim of finding a speedier resolution.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications / experience include:

Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
Diploma in the art and science of Neuro Linguistic Programming
Diploma in understanding and working with weight management
BACP  endorsed Hypnotherapy course
Certificate in Transactional Analysis 101

My clinical approach :

I use an integrative approach based on the person centred model whilst being influenced by how our relationship moves forward, the way we bounce off each other reflects the way you may relate to the world outside so its useful to keep an eye on this process.

Other theories may also come into play to include cognitive behaviour therapy,  transactional analysis, and neuro linguistic programming.

I work intuitively using the various elements of these different models that best tailor themselves to each individual client and their needs. I believe that at our deepest level everyone has the desire and capacity to fulfil their own true potential. I also believe that we all have within us a motivating force for positive change and growth if given the right environment to nurture this ability.

My clinical experience :

I have 12 years counselling experience offering psychological support to a client base that encompasses both the private and voluntary sectors, I have worked extensively within the field of anxiety and depression and regard this as a specialism.

Clients find their way to me by being referred by their G.P. or via the internet. A good deal of my private work also comes through personal recommendation, which I find particularly rewarding
I am a independent member of the BACP and have been assessed and accepted onto the BACP accredited voluntary register, a register that is approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.

I am bound by the BACP Code of Ethics & Practice.
